During reading week 2014, teams of undergraduate and graduate students will be given the opportunity to solve real industry problems. Teams composed of students from a combination of faculties and backgrounds will develop innovative solution strategies over the course of the workshop by leveraging their combined experience and knowledge with the analytic tools provided by IBM.Why participate?
As a student participant in the Industry Problem Solving Week you will have the unique opportunity to network both with students from outside your discipline and with industry representatives in one of three different workshops. The week also offers professional and academic development through presentations and interactive seminars from industry leaders. Moreover, several of the industry partners from the 2013 IPSW are currently working with Western students.
"IPSW offers an engaging and fun means of applying what one has learned in their university career to a current real-world problem. It further offers the ability to interact with industry professionals, faculty members, and students of various programs, in an informal and highly productive setting. By fostering such an interdisciplinary collaboration, the workshop affords students the unique opportunity to work together towards an inventive solution and is truly a worthwhile and intriguing experience."
